A doctor couple in Ludhiana, Punjab, recently became victims of a terrifying money heist in their own home. Four masked men entered their house, threatened them at gunpoint, and made off with a whopping 3.5 crores in cash, along with other expensive items. This incident is believed to be the second-largest robbery to occur in the city this year.

However, the police have swiftly responded to this shocking crime, managing to apprehend the four suspects involved in the heist. Following the registration of a First Information Report (FIR), various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act were applied in the legal proceedings. The Dugri police station led the investigation into the case.

Interestingly, the police not only recovered the stolen cash but also discovered additional evidence against the accused. They seized 271.35 grams of gold jewelry, 88 grams of silver jewelry, two cars, and a 12-bore illegal country-made pistol from the suspects.

The four individuals arrested for this crime have been identified as Gurwinder Singh Sonu (39), Pavneet Singh Shalu (42), Jagpreet Singh (22), and Sahildeep Singh (21). Sonu resides on Sua Road, Shalu in Dugri, while Jagpreet and Sahildeep come from Tarn Taran.

According to the doctor couple’s account of the incident, it took place on September 14 at around 8:40 p.m. The wife had just arrived home and was let in by the watchman when the robbers swiftly breached the property by scaling over the boundary wall. They held both her husband and the watchman captive at gunpoint, tying them up with tape. The men then proceeded to take her to the storeroom, where they seized the cash and gold jewelry.

It has also been revealed that the doctor couple holds authorizations from various countries, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and England, adding another layer of intrigue to the case.

Mandeep Singh Sidhu, the Commissioner of Ludhiana police, praised the efforts of his team. He informed TOI, “The victims stated in their complaint that the accused robbed them of Rs 15 lakhs in cash and gold jewelry worth Rs 15 lakhs. The police acted swiftly, forming different teams to trace the accused. We managed to solve the case within 96 hours and arrested all four who executed the robbery.”

In a surprising turn of events, the police also discovered a significant amount of additional cash during the investigation. Sidhu speculated that the victims may not have accurately disclosed the full amount due to fear of attracting the attention of the income tax department. Furthermore, the possible involvement of an insider is being investigated, as the suspects seemed to possess detailed knowledge of the couple’s wealth and the location of the cash in the house. The roles of current and former employees associated with the doctor couple are also under scrutiny.

In conclusion, the swift action taken by the Ludhiana police has led to the arrest of the four individuals responsible for the major money heist. Their recovery of a significant amount of the stolen cash and the subsequent seizure of additional evidence signals a positive development in the ongoing investigation. The authorities are diligently working to unravel any potential connections to insiders and determine the full extent of this audacious crime.
